Chemical Hazards Among Hospital Janitors: A Review Article

Abstract

Janitors perform number of tasks that are vital for ensuring hygienic conditions of the hospitals. They are exposed to huge hazards physically and mentally as a result of work, work environment, rules of the organization. Janitors clean and mop the floor of all areas in the hospitals. For this purpose, they use chemicals and some kind of sticks that would definitely cause skin related disorders in their hands and feet and respiratory disorders due to inhalation of these chemicals. This review presents a brief overview of Chemical hazards among hospital janitors. A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science databases, and grey literature was searched through Google Scholar included all scientific literature published from 2017 until 2024.
