Abstract

This article presents a study on the behavior of sizing problems posed by adhesive joints under stress. To size a joint, it is necessary to determine the shear stress state within the adhesive joint.

Establish an analytical model that quantifies the optimal overlap length based on the geometric and mechanical parameters of a single lap joint (lap).

The difficulty lies in the mathematical formulation of cohesive laws used to represent interfacial interactions. On the other hand, it is assumed that the members are linearly elastic until failure.
