Abstract

UrticadioicaL is a commonplant. Everyone knowsherforherstingingtouch.Infact, itis amedicinalplantusedsinceancienttimesforitsmany therapeuticproperties. In order to know the biological activities of medicinal plants traditionally used by the population, ourwork focused on the study of the crude extracts of the leaves of UrticadioicaL (Urticaceae) by themethodofethanolic maceration.Phytochemical screening revealed a wealth of bioactive substances. The characterization ofpolyphenols and flavonoids on TLC plates revealed a significant number of spots, which indicates a significantrichnessofcompoundsofthesesecondary metabolists.Radical scavenging (DPPH) showed that the ethanolic extract of Urticadioica has significantantioxidantactivity.
