Abstract

Identifying the creative reading skills included in the Arabic language textbook for the fifth grade of primary education in Algeria, their degree, and determining the extent of consistency and harmony in the inclusion of creative reading skills in the book were the objectives of the present study.


The study adopted the content analysis method and used a creative reading skills analysis form to analyse the study community, which is the Arabic language textbook for the fifth grade of primary education in Algeria.


The study found that most of the creative reading skills are included in the Arabic language textbook for the fifth grade of primary education in Algeria, but the degree to which they are included in the book ranges from weak to medium in most cases. The study also found a lack of consistency and harmony in the inclusion of creative reading skills in the Arabic language textbook for the fifth grade of primary education in Algeria when comparing the main creative reading skills with each other. Finally, we provided a set of recommendations.
