Enhancing Students' Academic Achievement through Teacher-Enhanced Peer Assessment Strategy: An Investigation of effectiveness
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the enhanced peer assessment strategy in enhancing students' academic achievement. To achieve this, we employed an experimental method with a two-group design on a sample of first-year middle school students at Hamama Al-Ilmi Middle School in El Oued. We randomly selected two groups, with an average of 38 students per class. After ensuring the equivalence between the groups, we implemented the enhanced peer assessment strategy on the experimental group, while the control group relied on self-assessment throughout the second semester of 2022/2023 in the subject of natural sciences. Following the experiment, we conducted an achievement test on both groups, revealing statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group. This confirms the effectiveness of the enhanced peer assessment strategy in enhancing academic achievement, allowing teachers to utilize this strategy to contribute and extend its impact to other aspects of thinking skills and social skills.
