Abstract

In this work, we numerically study thermosolutal convection in an inclined square cavity, the aim being to numerically study natural convection in a square cavity with variable heating and cooling. The cavity is filled with a non-Newtonian power-law fluid and saturated with a porous medium. The active walls are subjected to horizontal pressures, while the other walls are assumed to be adiabitic and impermeable. The equations governing the power-law fluid flow are solved using the finite-difference numerical method in time and space. The study examines the effects of relevant parameters such as Rayleigh number, the buoyancy ratio
